Capacitive Switching

Capacitive switching has been around for many years, but has become more popular recently with a wide range of new technologies now associated with Capacitive Technology. Moving away from the mechanical and more traditional push button switch, Capacitive sensing allows much more refined control of touch buttons, without mechanical movement and enables completely sealed systems to be accommodated.  A typical example being the ipod .

The capacitive sensing permits switching through various mediums such as Glass and Acrylics and can be utilised across a wide industrial and commercial spectrum from Medical to instrumentation.
