Membrane Switches

Membrane switch keypads are a replacement for conventional switch systems for a range of applications that include industrial control, office and medical equipment, military and consumer electronics.

The potential for cost reduction, simplified manufacturing, design flexibility, durability and cosmetic appeal have created a demand for Membrane switch overlays.

The choice of construction can be a simple, flat non–tactile very low cost systems through to multi layer X-Y Matrix output circuits with built in tactile response .

Tactility enhances the feel of the membrane switch and can be achieved by the use of stainless steel metal domes built into the membrane or by the use of an integral thermo-formed layer or the thermo -forming of the Graphic Overlay.

Surface mount LED’s can be incorporated into the membrane construction and eliminates the need for an extra pcb layer with conventional LED’s.

Membrane switches can be used in extreme environments and with the correct choice of materials now available we can provide Graphic Overlays which are scratch free and chemical resistant and easily wiped clean.

Each membrane switch is unique and tailored to the individual customers requirements, specific key sensitivity, anti-flammable properties and the ability to operate in all types of environments.
